Due to recent issues experienced from a particular batch of NST-D400S3 using the Oxford OXU3012 Chipset requiring 'Disk Initialization' and 'Formatting' of hard drives prior to standard operation of the hard drive dock, we are releasing a fix for this error through the use of a firmware update utility. There are 2 versions of this firmware fix because of different ID numbers which were shipped from the batch. Please download both versions below and apply the patch. Should one fail, try the other version. Please note the following before continuing: The operating system(OS) used to perform this update MUST be a Windows XP / Vista / 7 (32-bit ONLY)Applicable Devices:
1. Download and extract the Firmware Update Tools to a secure location.
2. Without hard drive(s) inserted, connect the NST-D400S3 hard drive dock to a USB 2.0 port. 3. Power on the hard drive dock and your OS should detect the hardware and install necessary drivers.
4. Once driver installation is complete, navigate within the extracted folder, either /NST-D400S3_Oxford_V1/ or /NST-D400S3_Oxford_V2/ and locate "FirmwareUpdater.exe".
5. Run the program "FirmwareUpdater.exe"
6. The Firmware Updater will begin detecting the device. If the following dialog is shown, please skip to step 8.
7. If no device has been found, please run the other version.
